Taxi Tech, Rideshare And The Struggle Of Taxicab Drivers was the focus of a forum to look at how
tech applications used by Uber and other companies is affecting
taxi drivers and the industry.
There is a massive transformation of labor and technology with
apps and other developments that confront all workers in this
industry and the public. The forum looked at the technology and
conspiracy by these tech companies to avoid paying workers
compensation and also to control it's employees and their behavior
while calling them independent contractors. The panelists talked
about deregulation and how that has affected working people in
San Francisco and throughout the United States.
