Whereas, KTX crew workers (all subcontract and female) have been on strike for 180 days against an outsourcing plan and mass dismissal of the Korail (Korea Railroad Corporation) and
Whereas,the public corporation has being initiated to extend irregular and subcontract workers in public sector and now attack irregular workers and,
Whereas,the workers have suffered attack by riot police and other oppression by the Korean government and,
Whereas, they have been without wages for more than 6 months and,
Whereas, all workers need the right to job security and no discriminatory policies and
Therefore, This conference calls for the withdrawal of all the KTX firings and the KTX to re-employ all the crew workers directly and for the immediate release of Kim jung-Min and the cancellation of the arrest warrant for Min Se-Won, the immediate cancellation of the 360,000,000 won charge for damages to individual workers by the Korail and Koravans and finally,
This conference calls for solidarity action and support by all transportation workers.
