There will be a May Day Organizing Committee meeting Wednesday April 16 at 7PM at the Seafarers' Center in the port of Oakland. That's the West Oakland BART stop. We'll have reports on the nationwide Port Truckers May Day Strike, threats from port employers, the May Day poster, new labor support, linking up with the immigrants' rights marches and logistics.
We'll be discussing the Organizing Com. support for our May Day march and rally. Reports from Tacoma, Seattle and Portland as well as from the port truckers. Bring a friend.
The ILWU West Coast Caucus voted that they would close the west coast ports on May 1, 2008 to protest the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Don't miss the SF Labor Council's upcoming program meeting on Monday, January 22. The program will focus on the Iraq War and include a report back from the U.S. Labor Against the War (USLAW) Convention as well as a discussion on how to de-fund the war. The program will include a presentation by an antiwar soldier.
